SAFE (Abridged) Workshops

Program Overview: A 6-week family enablement program designed for parents/carers of autistic children. It offers a space to reflect on family life and relationships, understand their child’s strengths and needs, and build resources to overcome barriers, cope with challenges, and improve family wellbeing.
Facilitators
- Claire Collins – Educational Psychologist and Family Therapy Practitioner
- Marsha Walton – Parent Support Advisor, Enfield Advisory Service for Autism
Format
- Small group sessions (max 8-10 participants)
- PowerPoint presentations with facilitated group discussions
- Handouts provided where appropriate.
- Attendance at all sessions is encouraged due to cumulative learning.
Pre-Session Meeting
- Explain the program
- Explore hopes and concerns
- Discuss what’s already working well
Follow-Up: A review meeting will be held in September to reflect on the program’s impact.
